Schaeffler Launches Photovoltaic Installation Project in Bien Hoa, Vietnam
As Schaeffler launches its photovoltaic installation project in Bien Hoa, Vietnam, it marks a significant milestone in owned renewable electricity production and sustainable practices.
Bien Hoa, Vietnam | In June 2025, Schaeffler inaugurated its photovoltaic (PV) installation at its digital plant in Bien Hoa, Vietnam. The event marks a significant milestone for Schaeffler in its commitment to driving decarbonization and transitioning towards a circular economy.
The newly installed PV system enables Schaeffler to engage in own renewable electricity production through solar power. With a capacity of approximately 2.1 MWp, the solar power system is expected to reduce the plant’s reliance on fossil fuels and shows how successfully Schaeffler Vietnam is supporting the company's decarbonization strategy.
The event opened with a welcome video showcasing the installation process of the solar power system. Next, Mr. Zhang Ying, Plant Manager, took the stage to emphasize the project’s numerous advantages. He highlighted the project as a pivotal step towards sustainable development and affirmation of ecological and social responsibility. In recognition of their dedication and efforts, the project team was presented with flowers as a token of appreciation.
The event concluded with Mr. Klaus Mueller, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Asia Pacific, Mr. Petru-Cătălin Scafaru, Head of Production System and Production Technology and Mr. Tao Jindong, Head of Purchasing Southeast Asia and Industrial Purchasing Asia Pacific jointly pulling a lever to turn on the PV system, marking the official activation of the system.
“Investing in the solar system is not just a step in our sustainable development strategy; it also underscores our responsibility towards the community and the environment,” said Mr. Zhang, reflecting on the benefits of the project launch, “We believe that minimizing environmental impact will yield long-term benefits for future generations.”
